Safeguarding and Child Protection

Grove CE Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Parents should be aware that information will be shared with relevant agencies in the event of a safeguarding concern e.g. Social Services/Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub.

 

The Designated Safeguarding Leads are Mrs Donna Blake (Headteacher), Mrs Alecia Leon (Deputy), Mr. R. Chetty (Year 6 teacher) and Mrs T. Elgar (SENDCO).

The Safeguarding Governors are Mr. N Cheeseman and Mr A Shapland. The Single Central Register is maintained by Mrs. C Preece. (School Business Manager)

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

 

If you are worried about a child or family, it is your duty to talk to someone and get help. You can contact Mrs Blake who is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or contact Mr Chetty or Mr McPherson who are deputy DSLs. They will follow the right channels to provide support.

 

If you prefer to discuss with someone external, contact the South team Locality and Community Support Service (LCSS) in Abingdon on 0345 2412608 LCSS.South@oxfordshire.gov.uk or for an immediate concern about harm to a child contact the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) on

Online Safety

Children start using computers from a very early age and are increasingly using the Internet more and more whether it is at home, in school, on their mobile phones or on a games console. With this in mind, Internet Safety and knowing how to help protect children and young people online is essential.
