We actively encourage children and families to travel to school by walking, scooting or cycling wherever possible, helping to promote healthy lifestyles, independence and a greener environment. We are pleased to offer a secure on-site bike and scooter shed for safe storage during the school day.
We understand that some families live further away and may need to travel by car. To help reduce congestion around the school, we have partnered with The Bay Tree Pub on The Green, Grove, OX12 0AN, as well as the Market Square car park, providing convenient locations to park and walk the remainder of the journey to school.
We have been working in partnership with Wantage and Grove Active Travel to produce a series of maps showing walking and scooting routes from different parts of the local area. The maps are designed to make it easier to discover practical, active travel routes and encourage more people to walk or scoot for local journeys.

Walking from North Grove

The purpose of the Walking Bubble is to create voluntary car-free zones around schools, encouraging everyone who can to 'Get Active' on their journeys to and from school. The Bubbles will also encourage families that have to travel by car to park at least 5-minute away from school, creating a safer space for walking, cycling and scooting. By placing these restrictions, we also reduce the number of cars parked on pavements outside and close to the school gates, which as you will know is one of the main concerns that parents have when walking to school. Reducing vehicles and creating more space will also make it much easier for families to socially distance and feel safer around school gates.
